The Shire of Esperance is located on Western Australia’s southeast coast about 725 km from Perth by road.
Esperance Airport is a community asset owned and operated by the Shire of Esperance located 23 km north of Esperance on the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway.
Regional Express (Rex) operates regulated passenger services between Perth and Esperance. The airport also supports aeromedical services, fixed and rotary wing firefighting operations, private, flying training and charter flights and an aerial agriculture business.
The purpose of the Airport Master Plan is to establish a framework for the future planning and development of Esperance Airport to ensure the Shire of Esperance achieves its strategic objectives and capitalises on the aeronautical and commercial opportunities provided by the airport.
After extensive consultation with the local community, aviation stakeholders and regulatory authorities, a pragmatic plan was developed that provides for incremental enhancements of aeronautical infrastructure according to future demand.
