A Reflection on the Aviation Projects Internship Program
By Georgia Holmes
Over the past couple of months, I have been lucky enough to undertake a rewarding internship with Aviation Projects. This internship has given me exposure to areas of the aviation industry which I previously had not been involved with or had prior knowledge of. The overall experience has allowed me to work and collaborate with an extremely passionate team of people who have been eager and willing to share their knowledge and expertise with me.
My time with the company has provided me with numerous experiences that I have been exposed to during my Bachelor of Aviation Management degree. I have been able to nurture my existing skills into real world scenarios, and helped me to identify my current strengths and weaknesses. During my time with the company I have been fortunate enough to accompany the team to client and stakeholder meetings, assist with research and witness exactly what it takes to deliver quality work.
My role as an intern was diverse, and no two days were the same - reviewing documents, attending site visits, assisting with analysis and research, and preparing client proposals. Aviation Projects delivers innovative solutions tailored to each client’s specific requirements. My involvement in various projects has given me an understanding of the diverse range of complex aviation problems to which Aviation Projects applies its expertise. With thanks to my internship I am now able to recognise the behind-the-scenes of what goes into maintaining a safety conscious industry, and how Aviation Projects’ capabilities assist in making this happen. The consultants at Aviation Projects have shown me what quality and pride in your work means. They do this by ensuring that every piece of work they deliver is set apart by the high-quality standards that they have integrated within the company.
I will be sad to finish my time with Aviation Projects, as I have had a remarkable internship experience. I have been shown what sets the company apart and have had a rewarding introduction to the aviation consulting industry. Keith, Heather, Pavel and the team at Aviation Projects are extremely talented and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from them during my time with the company.
