Background
Stewart is an experienced aviation safety professional with more than 35 years of expertise spanning air traffic services, aviation safety regulation, and operational oversight across military, civil, and international aviation environments.
His previous appointments include Senior Inspector – Air Traffic and Meteorological Services with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority, ANS Safety Manager with Abu Dhabi Airports and Global Air Navigation Services, and operational roles as an Air Traffic Controller and Supervisor across military and civilian aviation sectors.
Stewart’s service has been recognised through numerous honours and awards, including the Meritorious Unit Citation, Australian Active Service Medal, United Nations Operations in Somalia Medal (UNOSOM), Air Force Ground Combat Badge, Australian Defence Force Medal, and the Australian Returned from Active Service Award.
