Airport Safety Week 2025

Airport Safety Week brings together more than 300 airports, aerodromes and aviation organisations across Australia. The event is led by the Australian Airports Association (AAA) and focuses on promoting safe practices, awareness and collaboration within the aviation industry.

Each year, the AAA provides toolkits, quizzes, and discussion guides to support local events and toolbox talks throughout our airports.

This year (13 - 17 October), the theme of Airport Safety Week is: “One Airport, One Safety Culture", highlighting the importance of having consistent safety values and behaviours across every airport. A strong shared culture helps reduce risk, improves teamwork and supports better responses in emergency situations.

Each day explores a key safety topic:

  • Building a strong safety culture
  • Human factors and fatigue
  • FOD (Foreign Object Debris) prevention
  • Situational awareness
  • Emergency response readiness.

How your organisation can participate:

  • Register staff and contractors here
  • Use the daily toolkits
  • Run FOD walks, drills, toolbox talks
  • Get leadership involved
  • Share lessons with other industry participants.
