Leading Safety from the Ground Up

As our Flight Procedure Design Organisation (FPDO) eagerly prepares for the upcoming CASA PNG Part 173 application audit, it’s the perfect time to shine a light on the key figure leading our safety processes, procedures and systems - Kate Madden - AP's dedicated Safety Manager.

Kate brings an exceptional depth of knowledge and experience to the role of Safety Manager. Prior to joining our organisation as a Specialist Aviation Safeguarding Consultant, Kate served as a regulator with the Civil Aviation Authority of New Zealand (CAA NZ) where she was directly responsible for certifying and auditing safety management systems across a broad range of aviation industry participants.

Kate's insight into regulatory expectations and hands-on experience in SMS compliance have been invaluable assets during our own Part 173 certification process (for both CASA AU and more recently, CASA PNG).

Kate’s role however extends far beyond our FPDO Part 173 applications. As our scope of service continues to grow, so too does the complexity of our safety compliance requirements. Kate’s proactive leadership ensures our systems not only comply with industry regulations but also supports a strong safety culture across the organisation as a whole.
